He was predeceased by: his parents, Superintendent Elder Dutch and Ruth Nickolson James (Henry Betty Jo); his daughter Joyce James; his sister Christine Johnson; his grandson Clyde James; and his grandparents, Robert, Louvenia Tucker James, Willie Frank and Lareena Reed Nickolson.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa James (late Willie E. James) of Gretna, LA, Kimberly Williams (Lionel Williams) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Annie Ruth Young (James Robinson) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Lalisa Robinson (Alfred Robinson) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Willie James Jr. (LeTonya) of Baton Rouge, LA and Kenneth James (Kiwan Grant) of Gretna, LA; his siblings, Naomi James of New Orleans, LA, Josie Butler (Pastor Edward Butler) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Loucean Silas (Sammy Silas) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Louise Hart (Elder Bennie Hart) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Martha Beard (Roger Beard) of Wichita, Ruth Watson of Mt. Hermon and Bobby James of Mt. Hermon; and his brother-in-law Sidney Johnson.
