He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Marion (Buster) and Edith Monks; and his siblings, Douglas, Doyle, Bill and Juanita.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughter Penny of Lake Charles; and his sister Charlene Thorne of Daingerfield, TX. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren; 7 ½ Great Grandchildren; and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews.
