He is survived by: his wife Mary Charlotte Shannon; his children, Patrick (Connie) of Youngsville, LA, Bridget S Hancock (Walt) of Georgetown, TX, Colleen Shannon of Bayou Vista, LA, Laurie Shannon of Houma, LA, Neal Shannon (Mary Sabo) of Kinnelon, NJ and Casey Shannon (Selena) of Berwick, LA; his stepchildren, Michelle Hunter Trapp (Ronald) of Berwick, LA, Katherine Hunter Fondren of Tulsa, OK, Mike and Keith Taylor of Berwick, LA.; his grandchildren, Erin, D. "Reese" V, Thomas Shannon, Jessica, Allison, Matthew Hancock, Carli, Marcus, Bryanna Shannon, Brady Shannon, Amber Oppenheimer, Rebecca Nguyen, Sarah Broussard, Mary Frances, Emma Aucoin, Audry Trapp, Sutton and Reine Fondren; and his caregivers, Cindi Smith, Kayla Morin, Shamaka Garrett and Loupe Soto. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Twin City Funeral Home Inc. (412 Fourth St, Morgan City, LA 70380). A rosary was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (415 Union St, Morgan City, LA 70380). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Morgan City Cemetery (450 Myrtle St, Morgan City, LA 70380).
