We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2025, at the age of 89, Joseph Sidney Gash of Morgan City, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Greene Gash; his parents, Wilbert Gash, Sr. and Gertie Hebert Gash; his children, Patricia Gash, Diane Washington, Barbara Ledet, Lawrence J. Gash, Sr. and Paul Gash; his siblings, Ernest Gash, Olivia Ledet, Wilbert Gash, Jr., Whitney Gash, Paul Gash and Margie Gash; and his grandchildren, Nilah Lewis, Sonya Washington, Charles Washington, Jr. and Tekeya Washington.
He is survived by: his sons, James Gash, Sr. (Carolyne) of Morgan City, Louisiana and Charles L. Gash of Morgan City, Louisiana; and his siblings, Herman Gash of El Paso, Robert Narcisse of Morgan City, Louisiana, Sybil Charles (Harold, Sr.) of Morgan City and Mary Stuberfield (Craig) of Beaumont, Texas. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Era Baptist Church (406 Lawrence St, Morgan City, LA 70380). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
