She is survived by: her children, Ellen Berry, Gwendolyn Preston, Sterling Johnson and Rainne Johnson; her siblings, Russell Washington, Bernice Pierre, Beverly Merrell, Barbara Cox, Lee Reese and Dedra Norman; and her grandchildren, Kendrick Preston, Kimberly Preston, Sterling Johnson, III and Mikaila Muse.
