He was predeceased by: his wife Vickie Lynn Sweet; his daughter Melissa "Lisa" McDonald; his parents, Owen C. "Tuffie" Shores and Nettie Moore Shores; and his siblings, Stanley O. Shores and Bennie Shores Greenwell.
He is survived by: his children, Amanda "Mandi" Shores of Mooringsport, LA, Melinda "Brooke" Ponder (Jody) of Shelbyville, TN and Jeffrey Kyle Shores of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Katie, Emily McDonald, Meaghan Parker, Anna Ponder, Nathan Parker and Owen Clark; and his sister Letitia "Tish" Killian of Vivian.
