He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertie Johnson, and Marion Johnson, Sr.; his stepdaughter Jessica Fontenot; and his siblings, Marion James Johnson, Jr., Jennella Haskins and Patricia Navarre.

He is survived by: his sisters, Jane Carter of Dry Prong, Sheila Cohea of Dry Prong and Debra Nobles of Clarence. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
