He is survived by: his wife Christie Ratcliff Coates of Monterey, LA; his children, Norma Wiley (Ben) of Larto, LA, Willie Coates of Ruston, LA, Vera Coates of Harrisonburg, LA, Jason Coates (Meagan) of Shawnee, OK, Lisa Wesberry (Daniel) of South Carolina and Tracy Breland (Lynn) of Vick, LA; his grandchildren, Summer Gemar (Jarrod), Joshua Coates, Paige Coates, Tristen Coates (Karliegh), Gus "Dago" Coates, Casen "Leroy" Coates, Jack Trout, Kaley Wesberry, Jasmine Wesberry, Justin Breland (Sara), Austin Breland, Lizzie Mae Breland and Coltin Breland; his great grandchildren, Lily Gemar, Sam Gemar, Jonah Gemar, Adam "Peanut" Breland and Addy Breland; his brother Wayne Coates (Christa) of Farmerville, LA; and his brother-in-law Earl Perritt of Farmerville, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the New Hope Pentecostal Church (9113 LA-129, Monterey, LA 71354). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
