He was predeceased by: his parents, Willy Carl Thornton and Myrtle Rushing Bougues; his stepfather John Ross Bougues; his brother Bill Thornton (Mickey); his nieces, Theresa Whitehead, Myrtis "Cat" Case and Sharon Butler; and his brother-in-law Clyde Graves.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Graves of Monterey, LA and Wendell Thornton (Amy) of Winnsboro, LA; and his nieces and nephews, Rita Taylor (Marvin) of Patterson, LA, Dottie Beavers (Dale) of Harrison, AR, Billy Thomas of Corpus Christi, TX, Larry Graves (Charnell) of Corpus Christi, TX and Gerald Graves (Martha) of Lafayette, LA. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends.
