He was predeceased by: his parents, Irma Tillery and Thomas Bryan Watson; his siblings, Thomas Bryan Watson, David Eugene Watson and Catherine Watson Prichard; and his brother-in-law Lawrence S. Prichard.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Stephenson Watson; his children, Susan Watson Erskine of Monroe, LA and William Bryan Watson (Brett) of Iowa City, IA; and his grandsons, Joshua Erskine, Owen Erskine, Luke Erskine, Beckett Watson, Beau Watson and Banks Watson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
