She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ramiro Suarez and Luz Suarez; her children, Donna (Doug Cook) of Monroe and Paul "Bill" McQuade (Gail); her grandsons, Christopher McQuade (Rebekah), Eric McQuade and Luke McQuade; her great grandchildren, Jackson McQuade and Ellie McQuade of Hammond; and her sister Elba Gay of Houston. She was also cherished by many nephews and nieces.

“YAYA was the best mother-in-law I could ever have asked for. She was a friend, adviser and also a mother. A precious gift from God with so much beauty, grace and love. She touched my heart in so many ways, teaching me about organization, cleanliness and cooking. I don’t know what I would have done without her and Donna. When we would go on trips the house would be in a mess but when we can home everything would be clean and organized. I will always remember her love and kindness. Gail McQuade”
