With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Self Janes in Monroe, Louisiana, born in Hollandale, Mississippi, who passed away on October 7, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Jacob Janes; her daughter Carol Janes Spiers; and her son-in-law Elward Spiers. She is survived by: her children, Patsy Janes Kirkham (Bobby) of Sterlington, LA, Chuck Janes (Wilda Grace) of Anguilla, MS, David Janes (Regina) of Lucas, TX and Wade Janes (Jennifer) of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Michelle Spiers Engram (Steve), Elizabeth Spiers Greer (Joe), Kristi Kirkham (Billy), Grant Rogers, Ashley Janes Chapman (Lindsey) and Alyson Janes Corda (Ben); her great grandchildren, Jacob Engram, Justin Greer, Elliot Janes and Katie Grace Janes; her great great grandchild Collins Frith; her grandsons, Russell Kirkham, Leighton Janes and Parker Janes; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Frith, Nickolaus Frith and Joey Greer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
