It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katherine Gentry Thompson of Monroe, Louisiana, born in Texarkana, Texas, who passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Leslie W. Thompson; and her parents, W. H. Gentry and Mary Norton Gentry. She is survived by: her children, Paul Waylon Thompson (Angela) and Phyllis Thompson Tyler (Brian); her grandchildren, Joshua Thompson (Erin), Jeremy Thompson, Austin Tyler (Natalia), Rose Marie Tyler, Tyler Barber (Caitlin) and Jacob Barber; her great grandchildren, Will Thompson and Lilah Barber; and her sisters, Hazel Helms (Freddy), Sarah Cunningham, Mary Kelley (Mike) and Alice Woodfin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, St. Jude, or Samaritan's Purse.
