He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Sims and Rosa Armstrong Sims; and his siblings, James Sims and Narvie Ferrel. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Sims; his children, Sherry Mizell (Jeff), Theresa "Terrie" Graham (John), Steven "Steve" Sims (Myka), Donna McLemore (Chuck) and Patricia "Patty" Rogers (Hal); his siblings, Bobby Sims (Martha), Charles Sims (Kay), Nancy Fincher and Linda Fletcher; his grandchildren, Allison DeMarinis (Lou), Andy Mizell (Shannon), Matt Hill (Candi), Jamie Chambless (Chris), Jacob Graham, Alban Sims (Alia), Abram Sims, Asa Sims, Stephen McLemore (Rayanna), Michael McLemore, Patrick Murphy and Marianna Murphy; and his great grandchildren, Moira DeMarinis, Maggie Mizell, Connor Hill, Kamryn Hill, Aubrey Garner, Gage Chambless and Chole Chambless.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be sent to Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church or School.
