He was predeceased by: his parents, Hosea McNew and Alvie McNew; his son Jason Christopher McNew; and his granddaughter Whitney Fox. He is survived by: his wife Vonnell Hill McNew; his children, Jeff McNew (Debbie) and Jennifer Funderburk (Jeff); his grandchildren, Seth, Jesse McNew, Kayla and Nic Funderburk; and his great grandchildren, Silvia Fox, Theo and Graham Fox.

Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or First Baptist Church in Swartz, LA.
