He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Henry LeRoy Johns and Persis Means Johns; his wife Clarice Slagle Johns; and his sisters, Persis Crawford and Hope Norman.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Peyton, Henry LeRoy "Hank" Johns III (Sandy) and Anna Parent (Jack); his grandchildren, Lori Cobb (Randy), Jonathan Peyton (Kellie), Clay Johns, Stacie Parent (Ian) and Benjamin Parent (Meaghan); and his great grandchildren, John Thomas Peyton, Matthew Curd, Braxton Parent and Haiden Parent.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Methodist Church-Monroe (3900 Loop Rd, Monroe, LA 71201). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the Riverview Cemetery (3901 S Grand St, Monroe, LA 71202).
