He was predeceased by: his wife Joy Goodnight Cockrell; his daughter Terri Cockrell Brown; his parents, David Cockrell and Mary Alice Cockrell; and his siblings, Yvonne Pugh Vandrese and Jack Cockrell.
He is survived by: his sons, Ronnie Cockrell (Toni) of Monroe, LA and Tommy Cockrell of Monroe, LA; his granddaughters, Hailey Frey of Austin, TX and Aubry Cockrell of Austin, TX; and his brothers, Brent Cockrell (Cheryl) of Lafayette, LA and Keith Cockrell (Pam) of Florence, MS..
