She is survived by: her children, Lien Nguyen (Joseph) and An Pham; her grandchildren, Kim Tran (Teddy), Huyen Reardon (Nicholas), Long Nguyen, Wendy, Landon and Andy; her great grandchildren, Maddox, Khai, Roman and Merritt; and her close friend Tammy Pitarro. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

“Dung Thi Tran will be sincerely missed by me and my existing family. She was a Vietnam refugee who came with her husband and two young children to live in Monroe, La. I got to know her through my mother, Lois Landry. Dung Thi Tran and her family became good friends with our family. She was very nice, respectable, hard worker and a great cook. She helped me understand the Vietnam culture. She was a shining star in life.”
