It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Blackwelder (Monroe, Louisiana), who passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorothy Blackwelder to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ray Blackwelder; her parents, Gladys Richardson and Curtis Dale; and her sister Carol Kirk. She is survived by: her children, Gary D. Blackwelder (Jacque), David Blackwelder of Monroe, LA, Dr. Mark A. Blackwelder (Joanna) of Ruston, LA and Lisa Blackwelder Mahon (Rob) of Auburn, AL; her brother Benny Richardson; and her grandchildren, Megean Blackwelder Shaw (Mat), Mollie Blackwelder Morgan (Robert), Zachary LaSuzzo (Stephanie), Josh Blackwelder (Nikki), Jake Blackwelder, Dr. Cody Blackwelder (Grace) and Dr. Casey Blackwelder Redding (Kyle). She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of friends and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the North Monroe Baptist Church (210 Finks Hideaway Rd, Monroe, LA 71203). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in honor of Mrs. Blackwelder.
