He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard McCandlish and Decie Parrish McCandlish; and his siblings, Wilmer Roy McCandlish (Margie), Lorene McCandlish McBroom (Ray), Shirley McCandlish Garner (SV) and Phillip McCandlish.
He is survived by: his sister Lula McCandlish Tolar; and his sister-in-law Rose Borden McCandlish. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
