It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derrick Marcel Williams Sr. (Minden, Louisiana), who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Doris "Faye" Williams; his daughter Deirdre Monique Williams; his sister Joann Williams Duffey (late Alvin); his uncle James William Levingston; his aunt Minnie Levingston; his great-aunt Mayme Cunningham; his nieces and nephews, SaVongah Williams, Lamar Williams, Antron Willis and Jaeden Williams; his wife Sandra Willams; his children, Derrick Williams II (Andretta) of Cypress, TX, Darryl Williams (Sara) of Minden, LA, Brittany Williams of Fort Worth, TX and Deandra Williams of Shreveport, LA; his sisters, LaRhonda Stewart Pears (Leandrew) of Mobile, AL and Cynthia Brown of Prichard, AL; his grandchildren, Duke Marcel Williams and Adele Marsell Williams; his uncle Willie Anderson of Prichard, AL; his aunt Vivian Hollins of Mobile, AL; his father-in-law Theron Winzer (Bertha); his sister-in-law Stephanie Winzer of Minden, LA; his friend Rho Omega Chapter; and also Roderick. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist of Minden (301 Pennsylvania Ave, Minden, LA 71055). A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at the Point Pleasant Cemetery.
