He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Turner Treuting; his son Richard Earl Treuting, Jr.; his parents, Henrietta Thilborger and Frances Joseph Treuting; his brothers, Francis Treuting and William Treuting; and his son-in-law Timothy Edwards.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret Treuting Edwards, Teresa Ann Treuting, Mary Katherine Treuting Hymel (Louie), Janet Treuting Brown (Robert) and William Turner Treuting (Cathy); and his grandchildren, Richard Edwards, Katherine Edwards Witt (Jordan), Turner Edwards, Louis Hymel, III, JoAnn Hymel, William Hymel, Claire Brown, Robert Brown, Jr., Catherine "Puddy" Brown, Jacob Treuting, Mary Catherine Treuting and Carolyn Ann Treuting. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
