She was predeceased by: her parents, Len R. Matherne Sr. and Leona B. Matherne; her husband Melvin E. Cain Sr.; her siblings, Myrna "Ticka" Schmidt, Sylvia M. Cook, Len R. Matherne Jr. and Emile J. Matherne; and her grandson Melvin Cain.

She is survived by: her children, Karen A. Cain Nettles (Donny), Melvin E. Cain Jr. (Janice) and Timothy B. Cain (Shelly); her grandchildren, Samatha Nettles Chatelain (Andrew), Timothy Cain and Katlyn Cain; her great grandchildren, Adalynn and Ayden Chatelain; and her sister Elaine M. Nicoll (Wayne). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, The Alzheimer's Association, or the charity of your choice.
