He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Buddy" M. DeFraites, Jr. and Beverly Ehrlicher DeFraites. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Charleville DeFraites; his children, Joseph A. DeFraites (Jessica) and Robin DeFraites Washington; his grandchildren, Madeleine, Sean Patrick, Joshua and Beatrice DeFraites; and his siblings, Robert DeFraites (Colleen), Lawrence DeFraites (Gwen), Barbara DeFraites, Rose Fallon (Ken) and Ann Alphonso (John). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memories Funeral Home (4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
