He was predeceased by: his wife Ida May Stollte; his great grandchild Camilla; and his parents, Joseph Brandner Illg and Adele Schacka Illg. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Illg (Barbara), Walter Illg (Yamille) and David Illg (Dina); his grandchildren, Brandi, David Jr. (Amber), Corey (Kathryn), Amanda (Ben), Evan, Kamryn, Daniel (Dominique), Jennifer (Brian) and Katherine; his great grandchildren, Drake, Kyleigh, Kyndall, Kennedy, Chandler, Katherine, Amelia, Maverick, Hazel, Andon, Anna Kate, Mikayla, Giuliana, Shawn David, Charlotte and Adaline; his sibling Adel "Sissy" Hertz; and his nephew Mark Hertz.
