He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Elaine Bianca Merritt; his children, Michelle Lorusso (Nick), Melanie Hebert (Jay), Marsha Sperier (Archie) and Michael Merritt (Tammy); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Sophia, Katherine Lorusso, Jack, Maggie, Amelie Hebert, Camille, Ellie Sperier, Hunter, Avery and Cody Merritt; his parents, Agnes Pettigrew Merritt and Maxwell Melville Merritt; and his siblings, Mary Merritt Rodrigue and Peter Merritt. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Carmel Academy, Jesuit High School or LSU Cadets of the Ole War Skule.
