George Sumner Obituary
We bid farewell to George Sumner of Metairie, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 24, 2025 at the age of 83. George touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Prentiss Edgar Sumner and Mildred Nobles Sumner. He is survived by: his wife Diane Barnwell Sumner; his daughters, Nancy Sumner Hewitt (Rob) and Stephanie Sumner Bass (Ricky); his grandchildren, Caroline, Liza, Leighton Hewitt and Gibson Bass; and his sisters, Mary Sumner Turner of Hattiesburg and Ann Sumner Holmes of Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
