He was predeceased by: his parents, Garner J. Sr. Hodges and Miriam Knoepfler Hodges. He is survived by: his wife Sherri M. Knoepfler; his children, Melanie Powell and Brian Knoepfler (Lindsay); his stepsons, Casey (Alissa) and Cody Cadella (Chelsi); and his grandchildren, Alexis Knoepfler, Maddalena Powell, Cameron Cadella, Cobie Cadella, Cayson Cadella, Cooper Cadella and Riley Knoepfler.
Gary was also recognized for his instrumental efforts in establishing the Louisiana Kids Chance Foundation in 2005 and continued serving on the committee until his passing.
