He is survived by: his wife Susan K. Karpiuk; his son Emery J. Balga III; his sister Joanne Balga Young; and his sisters-in-law, Dayna Balga, Sharon Karpiuk Tanner (Michael Raymond Tanner) and Canan Karpiuk. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
