With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Lee Gately Lyness of Metairie, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 14, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Hampton Lyness; her parents, Leonard E. Gately, Sr. and Dorothy Byrne Gately; and her siblings, Elizabeth Anne Richard, Leonard E. Gately, Jr. (Buddy) and Tracy T. Gately.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dorothy Landry, Laurie Songy (David) and Beth Lyness; her grandchildren, Michael Landry, Christian Songy (Maddie) and Alexa Culotta (Jason); and her great grandchildren, Hudson Hampton Songy and Analeigh Caroline Culotta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in New Orleans.
