With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernarda Argentina Alvarez Pichardo (Metairie, Louisiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 10, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ramiro Alvarez Diaz and Elvira Simona Canaca; her husband Fernando Pichardo; and her siblings, Froilan and Amparo Alvarez.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Alvarez Lee (Aubrey "Buddy" Lee); her grandchildren, David Ricardo Guzman (Sarah), Ariana Martinez Arana (Erick), Jorge Martinez (Wai Yee), Anelly Orellana (Devan) and Amanda Lee Hanson (Bobby); her great grandchildren, Derrin, Gabriella, Savannah, Donovan Guzman, Denisse, Gabriel, Santiago Arana, Elianna Vasquez, Mason, McKinsey Orellana and Leah Hanson; her siblings, Alberto, Victor, Helena, Alba, Julio Alvarez and Tía Tita; and her daughter Tina. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Tharp Funeral Home (1600 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA 70001). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
