It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Abel Norton Guidry Jr. of Metairie, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on August 2, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Amelie Vivien Melancon of New Orleans and Abel Norton Guidry, Sr. of Broussard; his close friend Donna Lehrmann; and his brother-in-law Paul Hickey, Sr.. He is survived by: his nephew Paul Hickey, Jr. (Norton); his children, Nicole Guidry Mowad (Samir), Ashley Guidry Newsom (Jeremiah) and Abel Norton Guidry III (Jenny); his siblings, Marie Hickey, Janet Hubbard Diane Sleighel (Craig) and Al Rock (Karen); and his grandchildren, Madison, Coleman, Rafi, Sydney, Anna and Amelie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephew.
