With solemn reverence, we commemorate Florence Genevieve Menard of Maurice, Louisiana, born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, whose life came to an end on December 23, 2024 at the age of 77, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Welch and Genevieve Welch. She is survived by: her husband Marvin Menard of Maurice; her sisters, Marie Fontenot (Perry) of Ville Platte and Penny Berthelot (James) of Ville Platte; her daughters, Amanada Suire (David) of Katy and Renée Menard (Sherry) of Lafayette, Louisiana.; and her grandchildren, Kennedy Suire, Nicholas Suire and Allie Suire. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice (200 Chief H Fred Ave, Maurice, LA 70555). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (8700 Maurice Ave, Maurice, LA 70555). A burial was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at the St. Joseph Church Cemetery (100 E Milton Ave, Lafayette, LA 70508).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all honorary giving be made to either Florence's favorite charity St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, an organization that saved one of grandchildren's lives, or to the Family Promise of Acadiana, where a family room is being dedicated in her honor.
