He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Powell and Betty Mae Jenkins Powell; and his brothers, Nolan Powell Sr. and Dana Dean Powell. He is survived by: his significant other Anita Welch Powell; his daughter Amanda Powell (Josh Clark) of Marthaville; his siblings, Marvin Powell (Teresa) of Belmont, Alton Powell (Susan) of Marthaville, Loretta Greifzu of Robeline, Lawanna Singletary (Jason) of Marthaville and Laura Strahan (Steven) of Marthaville; his grandchildren, Bella Ryann Clark and Jesse Raylan Clark; his sisters-in-law, Patsy Powell and Yvonne Rawls Powell; and his close friend Gary. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a special cause to Garland.
