She was predeceased by: her parents, Kennith "Van" Ness and Verna Van Ness; her sibling Thomas A. Van Ness; her foster son Michael Barthe; and also Thomas Van Ness, Jr..

She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth "Babet" Waltman; her grandchildren, Hannah Montoya, Seth Myron Dickerson and Ian Norman Benjamin Dickerson; her siblings, Kennith J. Van Ness, Jr. (Kathleen) and Terry L. Van Ness (Rebecca); her nieces and nephews, Shawn M. Symington, William H. "Buddy" Van Ness, Cody Van Ness, Nicholas Van Ness, Dakota Van Ness, Melody N. Fenimore, Mary Van Ness, Jaison Symington, Tristan Symington, Taylor Van Ness and Chloe Van Ness; and her foster children, Misty Bourg Dickerson (Les), Jennifer Stevenson and Almon Barthe. She is also survived by other extended family and dear friends.
