He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rosa Cortes; his children, Suyapa Caballero-Cortes (Gerson) and Melvin Cortes (Liliana); his grandchildren, Gerson Caballero Jr., Jessica Caballero, Emily Cortes, Sianna Cortes and Victoria Cortes; his parents, Olimpia Urbina and Hernan Cortes; and his siblings, Jorge Cortes, Carlos Cortes, Omar Cortes, Ramon Cortes, Mario Cortes, Elsy Cortes and Genaro Cortes. He was also cherished by sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
