It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lionel Michael Zarders Sr. of Marrero, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Paulette Zarders; his grandson Lionel Crain; his parents, Louis Zarders and Clementine L. Zarders; and his sisters, Clementine Zarders Morgan and Rose Zarders Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Lionel M. Zarders, Jr. (Leatrice), Keith M. Zarders Sr. (Sharon) and Paula Ricard (Albert); his grandchildren, Maurice Holmes, Larresa Phillips, Carrissa Holmes, Katelyn Zarders, Keith Zarders Jr., Annmarie, Christina Gilmore, Alyssa, Alexis Ricard and Lance Zarders; his brother Mitchell Zarders of Morena Valley, CA.; his nieces, Linda Morgan Lewis and Ann Zarders Steward; his siblings-in-law, Opal Zarders of Morena Valley, CA., Brenda Antoine and Michael Duplessis Sr.; and his goddaughter Angela M. of Washington. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
