With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Smith Butler of Marrero, Louisiana, who passed away on August 17, 2024 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father David "Crockett" Smith; her grandparents, Henrietta Smith, John Matirne, Ennis and Mary Sullivan; her uncles, James Croom, Ivan O'Brien Green, Lawrence and Leon; and her aunt Yvonne.
She is survived by: her mother Eardean "Deany" Matirne-McKeel; her brothers, John Brent Wilson (Robin) of Edgard, LA and Michael Goins of Angola, LA; her aunts and uncles, Johnnie Green (Loretta) and Lola Green of Lottie, LA; her great-nieces and great-nephews, JaRon "Isiah" Barnes and Prince Patrick Haywood; and her close friends, Mary Bazile Hebert, Carol Sneed, Cecila Green, Penny Overton, Beverly Samuels, Vanessa Clark and Sharon Hines. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
