With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Wagner Matherne (Marrero, Louisiana), born in Baltimore, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 15, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William F. Wagner and Emma Daily Wagner of Baltimore; and her parents-in-law, Hilman "Buster" Matherne and Annette Babin Matherne. She is survived by: her husband Stephen J. Matherne; her children, Robin Matherne LeJeune (Mark), Dean Patrick Matherne (Inger) and Mark Stephen Matherne (Rebecca); and her grandchildren, Hunter James LeJeune, Abby Grace Matherne and Ella Grace Matherne.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (6700 Westbank Expy, Marrero, LA 70072). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
As this would have been the day, we celebrated her 80th birthday, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, attendees bring a Birthday Card.
