He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosemary Stephens O'Brien and James L. O'Brien, Sr.; his siblings, Patrick M. O'Brien, Rosemary O. Legnon and Vicki O. Fuchs (late John); and his sisters-in-law, Victoria S. Mire (late John) and Jacquelyn S. LeBlanc.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Smith O'Brien; his sons, Christopher L. O'Brien (Michelle) and Kevin J. O'Brien; his grandchildren, Jack H. O'Brien (Kallie), Austin J. O'Brien, Megan E. O'Brien and Cassidy L. O'Brien; his sister Kathleen O. Watzke (late Leon); and his siblings-in-law, Betty R. O'Brien, Sharon S. Kospelich (Russell), Denise S. Smith and Paul S. LeBlanc (Margie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews as well as extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mothe Funeral Home (7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home (7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072).
