She was predeceased by: her husband Leon A. Beckles; her parents, Robert Ward and Juanita Ward; and her siblings, Riley, Alvanita, Earl, Robert, Velma, Sandra, Joseph, Ronald and Harold Ward.
She is survived by: her children, Adolph Pickett, Patricia Alexander (Floyd), Cheryl Shaw (Lamar) and Verita Mitchell (Jon); her grandchildren, Chantrell, Mark, Jerita, Jewanne, Jonah and Brandon; her great grandchildren, Ahmad, Alijah, Alani, Amaya and Amir; and her siblings, Eddie Ward, Carolyn Ward and Glynn Marie Joyner (Stanley). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
