He was predeceased by: his parents, Evan West, Sr. and Rebecca Smith; his grandparents, Emanuel, Essie Smith, Cleveland and Ollie Mae West; his father-in-law James Walker; and his sibling-in-law Jethro Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Smith; his children, Alfred Gadson (Eve), Albert Gadson, Dexter McCellan and Kimitrea Yates (Bryant); his stepchildren, Travis Prevost, Davida Conerly (Alex) and Shawanda Carter (Wayne); his siblings, Calvin, Kenny Smith (Micherlyn), Rodney, Evan, Eric West, Carlton Outland, Willie Lean, Debra, Essie Smith, Alice, Regina West, Beverly McCray and Deborah Butler Dixson; his siblings-in-law, Mayron Walker (Trenice), Eric, Carl England, Kevin, Samuel Martin, Debra Carter (James), Debra Jackson (Obie), Jose Martin, Muriel Antione, Conrad, Gregory England, Karen Cain and Vera Walker; his cousins, Bennie Myles and Marylean Johnson; and also Crushel Smith. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
