He was predeceased by: his wife Lois R. Chappell; his daughter Odette Chappell Orso; and his parents, Buford Louis Chappell and Beatrice Rawson Chappell. He is survived by: his children, Connie Chappell Fontanez and Douglas Chappell Jr.; his grandchildren, Kerra Dearman, Felicia Chappell and Shawn Orso; his great grandchildren, Logan Dearman and Mathius Levier; and his siblings, Jacky Wayne Chappell, Jean Carol Hayes, Patricia Ann Billiot and Curtis Groven Chappel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
