He was predeceased by: his wife Mary "Doris" Morningstar; his child Jerry L. Martin; and his siblings, Lee Morningstar, Ted Morningstar, Glen Morningstar and Polly McElhaney.

He is survived by: his children, Pamela Danigole (Joe) and Ernest J. Martin; his grandchild Ashley L. Pabst (Elroy); and his great grandchildren, Gabriel L. Guidry and Oliver J. Pabst. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
