He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Cole; his daughter Charlayne Cole; his parents, Martin Cole and Eve Dodge Cole; his siblings, DJ Cole, Lela Dauzat and Eva Nell Harmanson; and his great grandchild Austin Cole.
He is survived by: his children, Nelson "Buddy" Cole, Jr. (Donna) of Brouillette, Samuel Cole of Brouillette and Tammy Normand (Gary) of Marksville; his brother Jessie L. Cole of Walker, Louisiana; and his grandchildren, Donielle Cole, Joshua Normand (Lacy), Michelle Cole, Christopher Cole and Alison Buras. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren; and step great grandchildren.
