He was predeceased by: his mother Pearlina Conway; his son Lionel Kelly Sr.; his brother Robert Simon; his father Ernest Simon; his stepmother Bernice Simon of Marksville; his children, Myeshia Simon, Shameka Augustine, Taji Simon Sr. of Marksville, LA and Kerry Laurent of Houston, TX; and his siblings, Bernadine Davis, Gloria Augustine, Oprah James, Debra Ford, Charlene Simon, Cheri Leget, Linda Vonquintus, Aaron Simon, Michael Gary Lee, Earl Sanders, Jessie Barnes, Billy Barnes, Charles Barnes and Bruce Barnes. He is also survived by grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
