He was predeceased by: his parents, James Fred Nesbit and Martha Delaney Nixon; his son Alan Keith Nesbit; and his siblings, James Nesbit (Hoss), Paul Nesbit, Porter Nesbit, Stella May Hill, Hallie Ermadean McHale and Leota Wiggins.
He is survived by: his children, DeNeica Ikerd (Greg) of Mansura and Lemule Richard Nesbit (Rick) of Hessmer; his sister Evelyn Faye Rogers; and his grandchildren, Alan Keith Nesbit, Jr. (Jennifer) of Marksville, Mandy Hawkins (Timmy) of Shreveport, Misty James (Brady) of Hessmer, Summer Hvasta (Lucas) of Conroe, TX. and Rikki Deaville (Coy) of Plaucheville.
