He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Matkin; his parent Johnnie Matkin; and his siblings, Albert Patterson, Clyde Matkin, Zelma Hillman, Thelma McCoy, Mary Newman and Eleanor Sharbono.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Belgard (Jeffery) of Deville and Danny Ray Matkin (Paula) of Deville; his grandchildren, Stacey Belgard (Austin) of Deville, Chance Bordelon of Deville, Christopher Matkin of Deville and Alicia Matkin of Deville; his great grandchildren, Balian Floyd of Deville, Wyatt Belgard of Deville, Aubrey Belgard of Deville, Raelyn Bordelon of Deville and Ripton Bordelon of Deville; and his brothers, James Matkin (Rosella) of Dry Prong and Johnny Moreau of Georgia.
