He was predeceased by: his parents, Ione Vines and John Kent Sr.; his grandparents, Sam and Hattie Vines; and his sister Rachel Vines.
He is survived by: his brother James Vines of Little Rock, AR; his son Robert "Bull" Kent of Converse, LA; his grandson Brandon Kent of Mansfield, LA; and his partner Gail Palmer of Many, LA. He is also survived by nephews and friends.
