He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Inez Mahaffey; his parents, John Brown and Mary Ethel Mahaffey; his granddaughter Valerie Martinez; and his siblings, Myrelle Royals, Eula Virginia Cox, Lerline Gabler, Imoselle Burris, Clarence Mahaffey, J. C. Mahaffey and Cecil Mahaffey.
He is survived by: his sons, George Mahaffey (Doris) of Katy, TX and Clarence Earl Mahaffey of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, John Mahaffey (Brooke), Amy Mikolajczak (Stephen) and Claudia Martinez (Marcos); his great grandchildren, Angela Munoz, Thomas Munoz (Amy Garcia), Xavier Jimenez, Charlie Alton Mahaffey, Maxwell Mahaffey, Birdie Mahaffey and Ina Mae Mikolajczak; and his great great grandchild Matthew Munoz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
